Carl Woolston, CFP®, ChFC®
Founder | Retirement Planner

Carl Woolston is the founder of Thrive Retirement Planning and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He’s passionate about helping individuals retire with clarity and confidence through education-focused, fiduciary guidance that always puts the client first.
Years ago, as Carl’s parents approached retirement, he watched them struggle with key decisions—when to claim Social Security, how to protect their savings, and invest their assets. That experience inspired Carl to help others navigate retirement with less stress and more purpose.
His philosophy is simple: Give Every Asset a Job. Using Thrive’s proprietary Retirement Transition Blueprint, Carl helps clients turn their savings into a personalized strategy that addresses income, taxes, investments, healthcare, Social Security, and legacy planning. Having assets is not the same as having a plan.
Carl holds the CFP® and ChFC® designations, is a National Social Security Advisor certificate holder (NSSA®), and holds his Series 65 and insurance licenses. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Governors University.
Carl has been married to his wife, Christine, for 30 years. They have six children and three grandchildren. He enjoys fly fishing, traveling, the outdoors, and discovering new trails—both in nature and in life.
